As Santa fills those sacks with toys, and then checks whose been naughty or nice, here are a few seasonal images and thoughts:
Oh Tannenbaum! The Christmas tree is the icon of the season. A tradition in Germany, it was first brought to England by Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. It now comes in every possible variation, shape, form and color. This year the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi erected an $11m Christmas Tree. It was draped with countless gems, silver and gold. Their goal was the Guiness book of records. They later removed much of the glitz bowing to the pressure of negative publicity.
Then there are all of those songs. The twelve days of Christmas gets new words each year. A favorite is the cost of the swans, geese etc. Five of us came up with an update at lunch on December 19. We just felt those milkmaids, lords a’leaping and swans so last year

The digital story of the Nativity
Ho, Ho, Ho, and to all, a very goodnight. Donner, Blixen etc will need a rest and some buckets of lichen when they return to the North Pole after circumnavigating the world. Santa looks as if enjoys a stiff one. TTFN
